And soon, there’ll be a new way to stay — an extraordinary steam-bent timber hideaway nestled in our wildflower meadow, with its own rooftop terrace for long summer evenings beneath the stars.

Our little farm shop brings together the best of what we raise and grow at Shepherds Close — fresh eggs, seasonal produce and small-batch meat from our heritage breeds, all produced here with care and a light touch. Simple, honest food shaped by the seasons, the land and the animals that call it home.

A few times a year, we open the farm gates for small, handcrafted events and experiences inspired by the seasons and life at Shepherds Close — a chance to explore, make, learn, celebrate or simply spend a little time on the farm. Our family farms twenty-some acres just outside Canterbury in the Kent Downs. Our approach to land management is guided by the principles of countryside conservation, supported by a Countryside Stewardship agreement with Natural England and informed by the expertise of Kent Wildlife Trust. We raise rare heritage breeds that work with the land to boost bio-diversity. Sure, it might be harder and slower the way we do things, but we only see the upsides.
